Data Synchronization

What is Data Syncronization?

Data Synchronization is the transfer of product and location information electronically. The data is continually synchronized. Data Synchronization requires a continual exchange of information between Lowe’s and their vendors. The Product Information sent in data sync is controlled by the vendor and includes item attributes (i.e., size, height, and weight) as well as price and promotion data. The Location Information contains information involved in trade (i.e., headquarters, billing locations, and ship to locations).

Benefits of Data Sync for the Vendor

  • New products reach the market faster
  • Cost Saving (improves logistics, accounting and inventory methods)
  • Synchronization can be done with a broad number of retailers

Rapid Data Synchronization

Rapid Data Sync gives you a proven, scalable and cost-effective path to 1SYNC compliance. With its full-service data capture, validation, translation and message transport, it provides the solution you need for managing and publishing product data through the 1SYNC Data Pool.

The solution was engineered with practicality in mind, providing everything needed to rapidly get up and running. By accessing Rapid Data Sync from a Web browser, you’ll employ 1SYNC data synchronization capabilities easily, without buying, installing and maintaining an expensive software and hardware platform.

The Lowe's specific version of RDS includes a customized RDS spreadsheet or EDI 832 that validates all Lowe's requirements before the data is sent to Lowe's.

Key Features:

  • Pre-formatted spreadsheets provide a familiar tool for managing your product attributes.
  • Pre-process edit checks identify errors before they ever get to the 1SYNC Data Pool.
  • Email notifications inform you of the status as data progresses through the 1SYNC and trading partner processes.

How it works

Customers send item information in any of our data formats: EDI, Flat File or a Pre-formatted spreadsheet. The file is processed into our system and automatically validated to ensure the data meets Lowe's specific requirements prior to being sent to Lowe's. If errors are detected, an email listing them is returned to the customer. Our validations will ensure that RDS delivered notifications are correct every time when presenting to Lowe's.
