Executive Team

Our seasoned Executive Team continually strives to drive EasyLink forward and deliver real business value to our clients while also dedicating themselves to effectively increasing shareholder value.

 

Tom Stallings serves as EasyLink’s chief executive officer and a member of its Board of Directors. He joined the company in December 2003 as chief operating officer and assumed the role of chief executive officer in April 2004. With more than 35 years of sales, marketing, finance and operations experience, Tom brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to EasyLink. He has successfully led several private companies through strong growth and into profitability as well as through successful acquisitions by larger organizations.

 

Before joining the company, Tom spent seven years in the management of venture capital backed or privately held technology companies. He was the president and chief operating officer of CoreHarbor, where his efforts led to the effective merger between CoreHarbor and USinternetworking Inc. Prior to that, he served as president and chief executive officer of Cambar Software Inc. (CSI) and was successful in completing a sale of the company to a private investment group. Before joining CSI, Tom served as president and chief executive officer of Analytika, Inc., where he effectively grew this early stage software development firm and completed the acquisition of the company by Dendrite International. Prior to 1996, he held progressively more responsible management and executive positions at Oracle and IBM.

Glen Shipley serves as EasyLink’s vice president and chief financial officer. In this role, he has responsibility for financial operations, legal matters, contract administration and human resources. During his more than 30 years with financial and legal responsibilities, he has developed comprehensive expertise in public accounting practices, corporate ethics, SEC regulations and mergers and acquisitions.

 

Prior to joining the company, Glen served as chief financial officer of Melita International, Inc., which was acquired by Concerto Software, Inc. He also brings experience from eshare communications, Inc., a leading provider of integrated customer interaction and intelligent call management solutions which was later acquired by divine, Inc. where he served as chief financial officer and administrative officer and Vanishing Point, Inc., a venture-backed start-up company that utilized advanced technology to deliver aesthetic medical treatments in retail settings, where he served as chief financial officer and secretary. Glen has also consulted for various software and genomics companies on operational and financial issues and practiced law in the state of Washington.

Terri Deuel is EasyLink’s vice president, product development and customer services. In this role, she has responsibility for product development, professional services, outsourcing services and customer support. Ms. Deuel had previously served as chief marketing officer and senior vice president of customer communications, service and support. 

 

Prior to joining the company in June 2004, Terri spent four years as the vice president of strategy and marketing for the Integrated Supply Chain Group, a privately held company focused on supply chain software and services. Prior to that, she held roles of increasing responsibility in engineering, sales and marketing at IBM, ending her 16-year career as an Americas’ brand manager, responsible for the sales, marketing and operations in the personal computer division.

Rick Gooding is EasyLink’s vice president of operations, responsible for the company’s Information Technology and global quality assurance program. In this role, Rick supports and develops enterprise business applications, productivity solutions, engineering support applications, voice and data networking and data center operations. He had previously served as executive vice president and general manager of the Transaction Delivery Services business unit and vice president of operations. Rick joined the company in 2001 to oversee the business and technical transition from AT&T.

 

Before joining EasyLink, Rick spent four years with B2B Internet startups and consulting services. Prior to that, he served as president of Western Union Data Services Company from 1994 until 1996 and held general management positions at MAI Systems Corporation from 1991 until 1994. He began his career in 1971 at Western Union Corporation where he held various positions of increasing responsibilities.

Kevin Maloney is EasyLink’s senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. In this role, In this role, he oversees all aspects of marketing and sales worldwide, including corporate and investor communications, lead generation, management of existing relationships, acquisition of new customers and business partners and sales operations.

 

With over thirty years of experience in technology sales and marketing in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific, Kevin brings to EasyLink the background required to synergize our direct sales force, business partners and marketing efforts across the globe. He joined EasyLink after serving as the executive vice president of world wide sales for Network General Corporation where he managed the global sales and services organization responsible for selling software solutions and intelligent appliances that monitor and manage all elements of the IT infrastructure. Prior to his position at Network General, Kevin served as vice president of worldwide sales for Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. where he led the sales and distribution operations in all countries where Check Point conducted business. Kevin began his career at IBM where he held positions of increasing responsibility in sales and sales management.

John Mecke  is EasyLink's vice president, global product management. In this role, he is responsible for establishing the strategic and tactical directions of EasyLink’s service lines, managing the P&L for each service line and leading the company’s project management office. John brings over 25 years of extensive experience to EasyLink in enterprise and mid-market technology. His background includes leadership in executive and functional positions within marketing, product management, sales, research and development, client services, professional services and corporate development.

 

John came to EasyLink from DevelopmentCorporate, an M&A advisory firm for high tech companies, where he served as managing director and assisted Internet Commerce Corporation with its acquisition of EasyLink Services Corporation. Prior to DevelopmentCorporate, he served as senior vice president of corporate development at Inovis, a $150 million dollar provider of B2B integration solutions. While at Inovis, he also served as senior vice president of client services and vice president of product management. John has held executive positions with Saba Software, Lumenor, ObjectSpace, Computer Associates, Sterling Software, and KnowledgeWare.

Les Russell is EasyLink’s vice president, International. In this role, he leads international expansion focusing on EMEA and Asia Pacific and has general management responsibilities within those geographies. He joined the company in November 1999 and has held a variety of executive positions internationally. Most recently, Les served as managing director of Easylink Services International Limited with general management responsibility for all international businesses. Prior to that role, he led Easylink Services UK group of companies and served as technical director and vice president of operations for the UK.

 

Prior to joining EasyLink, Les worked for Nortel Networks, the global telecommunications company, from 1992 to 1999. At Nortel, he held a number of roles, including director of messaging services with worldwide responsibility for the internal messaging systems. Between 1975 and 1992, he held positions of increasing management responsibility within the telecommunications and computer industry sectors in the UK.

Jim Walsh serves as EasyLink’s vice president, sales for North America. In this role, he oversees sales and account management activities for North America.    
 
Before joining EasyLink, Jim worked for Reflex Security, Inc., a leading provider of network Intrusion Prevention Solutions (IPS) as director of channel sales and vice president of national sales for Verity Professionals, LLC, a provider of industry and technology-specific staffing solutions for both staff augmentation and permanent placement. Prior to that, he spent four years as vice president of sales and marketing for several technology start-up firms in Atlanta. Jim has also held roles of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and channels of distribution at IBM, ending his 15-year career as director of brand management and marketing, Personal Systems in North America.
