Full time Monday - Friday

Qualifications: 

• Experience with Microsoft clustering high availability solutions
• MS SQL 2000 (converting to 2005 experience)
• Full knowledge of MS SQL server environment
• Experience with SQL server analysis services and/or SQL server reporting services
• Experience with Progress 4GL RDBMS and OpenEdge 10
• Excellent communication, organizational and documentation skills, ability to effectively interface with other departments and ability to work effectively on a team and individually
  

Description: 

Responsible for designing & creating all physical database architectures which include determining storage parameters, allocating storage segments & establishing OS & physical database parameters. This position will also be responsible for the following:

• Provide database setup & configuration assistance in creating & migrating all DB environments
• Respond to custom requests from users & assist with application & user support
• Provide backup & recovery activities through data exports/imports
• Monitor all instances for opportunities to tune any poor performing queries & provide recommendations on changes in database parameters to increase performance of the instance
• Validate physical database changes
• Maintains optimum database performance through managing database performance parameters
• Install new revs and patches as necessary
• Stay current with vendor maintenance information
• Serve as gateway and/or implementer for database change control requests
• Determine and maintain user security access for all groups of users
• Assist in disaster recovery tests
